emo versus lonely

I AIN'T EMO!

Emo has two different meanings. One is a style of music. The other is a label people use to describe a group. The group of teens that use the label say that emo is short for emotional, but the term originally came from the Indie music style called Emotive Hardcore. It is a sub-genre of punk.

THE MUSIC:
It's basically punk rock, except the lyrics are about emotional things rather than being a rebel. Emo is a kind of rock music which describes several independent types of music with common similar roots. Mid-tempo hardcore punk, pioneered around roughly '85 by the D.C. band Rites of Spring. It's in no relation to the pseudo-emocore/mall punk of today.

THE PEOPLE:
It is a label people give themselves for being apathetic and emotional to an extreme (usually miserable), but wallowing in it and not wanting it to change. They tend to feel they are misunderstood and that life is not fair to them in specific. It is in fashion with some of the group to cut themselves and wear heavy eye make-up. The hair cuts tend to have awkward sharp angles and are often glossed. Many of the guys wear very tight jeans, often women's. The girls tend to lean more towards late 70's to early 80's fashion.

okayy maybe, i do where eyeliner, but not so much. i certainly don;t cut myself, cos its a really waste of skin and BLOOD. maybe i am miserable at times but i cn be cheerful too ryte ? RYTE ?? am i lonely then ?

BEING ALONE:
Some people and indeed some children choose to be alone. They may be shy or simply not enjoy the company of being with others. Often the isolated child is a cause for concern for teachers and parents but not to the child themselves. A child that has a healthy self esteem is not at risk simply because they choose not to socialise with their peer groups.

LONELINESS:
Loneliness is a state of mind, you can be alone and not be lonely. On the other hand you could be in a crowded room and feel loneliness. This is a very different situation and a person experiencing this needs to be encouraged to pursue things of interest with themselves and others. Loneliness can stem from an inability to reach out to others and may require counselling to develop strategies to connect with others.

SINGLE DOES NOT MEAN YOU'RE LONELY:
If you are single odds are more than once someone has told you how lonely it must be being single.

Yet the truth of the matter is there is a huge different between being single and lonely.

In fact if you are single and lonely it is better than being in a relationship and being lonely because when you decide to overcome your loneliness the only thing you have to lose is being lonely whereas the person in the relationship who decides to overcome their loneliness risks losing their relationship as well.

When a person is single it means that you have not made a commitment with anybody. You are free to see whoever you want whenever you want.

When a person is lonely it means that they have a feeling of emptiness and a general disconnect from people.

They can not freely express themselves or choose not to out of a fear of being hurt.

Being single has nothing to do with being lonely.

In fact many people are single because they are NOT lonely and don't need or more accurately refuse to settle for someone less that what they expect or deserve.

Many people are in a relationship because they are lonely or felt lonely when they where single.

Furthermore many people in relationships still feel lonely only they have some other expressions for it because they are hiding their true selves from both their partner and the world out of that fear of being by themselves to face their loneliness.

Overall if you are lonely it doesn't matter if you are single or in a relationship.

In order to enjoy life you have to enjoy being with yourself all by yourself sometimes.

If you are single you have the advantage that once you take care of the loneliness in your life all you will have lost is the loneliness and if you want you can begin a healthy relationship that you can have control in.

However, if you are in a relationship and have chosen to take care of that feeling of loneliness you not only risk losing your loneliness you also will risk losing your unhealthy relationship as well.

okayy, don't seem to think that i'm lonely ? even if I AM SINGLE. SO Z, I AINT LONELY ! i'm perfectly happy with my status and wouldn't feel left out if my friends have bfs or if YOU go on and on telling about how miserable i am being single. I AM NOT LONELY, I'M SATISFIED WITH WHAT I HAVE NOW. SO DON'T U DARE TALK ABOUT THIS AGAIN!

grr, pissed off lurh.
